I have only started this for slightly less than half a year. Before this year, I was very active and always in the sunlight. My mum kept telling me to put sunblock but I couldn't be bothered to and I went for my daily trainings in the bright sunlight for a few hours each session. Well, we were all young (and foolish once). It's not that I want to get skin cancer, it's just troublesome to put on sunblock everyday. Oh and my skin is pretty dry too. Yeah I think dry is better than oily skin, but it's reallllly dry.
So... This year, my mum and I went on a spree at Body Shop! I started to make myself adopt a skincare regime. It's been going alright so far and I feel weird if I don't do it in the day/night. I get really conscious when my skin feels dry after a night's sleep in aircon. As a girl, I put on makeup sometimes and it's critical to keep your skin clean and healthy. We all don't want to age too quickly! (Except, I'm not into all the whitening creams.)
So the products that I use... ^^ They are the Vitamin E range and are suitable for all skin types. Ask the salespeople at the Body Shop to help you choose a good range for your skin. I know the most popular one is the Seaweed cleanser, but I don't really have oily/combination skin, so I went for this range. The pink is such a sweet colour too!
Vitamin E is an antioxidant that repairs and protects skin! They neutralize the oxidant effect of free radicals that are all around us. These free radicals damage collagen and cause skin dryness, wrinkles and fine lines!
After using a facial cleanser and washing your face...
Step 1: Toner
I dab some of this onto a cosmetic cotton square (you can just use normal cotton wool) and put it all over my face. I like how cooling this step is. Then I wait for it to dry.
Step 2: Moisturise
Depending on day/night, use either one! Dab at 5 spots - forehead, right cheek, left cheek, nose and chin. Then use 3 fingers and gently massage in circular motions into your skin. Be careful not to stretch it too much!
Step 3: Eye Cream
I have really bad dark circles and eye bags so this step is very important for me! Just squeeze a little dot out of the tube and gently apply all over your eyes!
Some people usually have a softener/serum worked into their regime. It usually is put before the moisturiser. I don't but anyone can have their own skincare regime. Don't worry so much about the cost... At least for the Body Shop products. These have been lasting me a long time, I have not bought a second round yet! So yes, about 6 months and going strong. Try yours today!
