Phantom of the Opera

Free tickets from Mandarin Oriental to my mum = Phantom on the gala night! WOW, amazing. Each ticket was worth $165, I think. At least.

Had to rush down after school for the cocktail reception at the hotel before all the guests were shuttled to MBS in a coach. Walked quite a distance through MBS before we reached the Mastercard Theatre

...where there was a red carpet awaiting. :O

Radio DJs and Mediacorp celebs were all around filming and getting interviewed/photographed. Hahaha, well I'm not starstruck by local celebs. Some people were busy snapping photos of Rebecca Lim and I-have-no-idea-who-the-guy-is.

The musical started at 8pm! We were ushered to our stall seats -- ps: mine was H29. We were just a few rows from the stage and the view was really good. We were able to see the expressions on their faces and appreciate everything from such a short distance. The chandelier also hung right above us.

I've always been a fan of Phantom, and this is the first time I've watched it since I was a kid. I thought the songs were quite good! Well, I have nothing to compare it to. My fav scene was the masquerade scene ^^ The sound system in the theatre was really good, so even if you don't buy stall seats, I think the audio would still be excellent.

After the musical, we were allowed entry into the after-party where there was free flow of wine and soft drinks + some finger food. It was just a lot of mingling and socialising, no big deal for me. I met T's 2nd cousin there - Melissa and her boyfriend Jonathan. Small world... actually, no. There were some bloggers invited, so not surprising that she was invited. Oh right, Raoul came out to the after-party too. Got a blur photo with him cause the woman helping me was too distracted. Anyway, I didn't stay too long cause I had school the next day.

Go watch it! :)
